Bio

Cleofe Guangko Casambre MD was born in Cebu City, Philippines. As a child, she was considered an exceptionally talented musician. She received a scholarship to the prestigious Philippine High School for the Arts, with a special curriculum developed to nurture gifted young artists. She earned her music degrees (Class Valedictorian, magna cum laude, and Masters Degree in Music, major in piano and minor in composition) from the University of the Philippines. Cleofe continued her advanced piano performance studies at the Stuttgart Musikhochshule und Dastellende Kunst under Prof. Andre Marchand.

In November 2010, she recorded her ten original piano compositions entitled Healing Music Series Opus 143 at WFMT Studios Chicago. The Healing Music Series Opus 143 offers an understated virtuosity in the service of helping to restore inner music among its listeners. The lucid tones and gentle lyricism soothe the frazzled body and spirit. It is a perfect soundscape for spaces of healing.

Cleofe currently works for Windy City Anesthesia, the Midwest leader in anesthesia services. She was formerly an Attending Physician in Anesthesiology at Mercy Hospital Chicago, where she also enjoyed teaching medical students and residents from University of Illinois Chicago. Cleofe went to Ball State University for pre-med studies and at the Indiana University School of Medicine. She completed residency in Anesthesiology at Advocate Masonic Medical Center, where she received the Department Chair Prize for Highest in the Anesthesiology In-Service Examination. At Northwestern Medical Center, she completed a Pain Medicine Fellowship. Cleofe is a recipient of the Chicago Filipino-American Hall of Fame Award in Music for 2011.

Cleofe is President of Lookrelaxmd Products and Services, LLC. She is a member of the American Society of Anesthesiologists and the American Society of Composers, Authors and Publishers.
